Technology is changing faster than many people can keep up. What middle school students can do on a computer was almost unimaginable only a few years ago. This technology is changing EVERYTHING…. the way we think, the way we communicate, the way we learn. Our school district’s current goals include “preparing students for the 21st century. “ One big aspect of this goal includes technology. In our society, it is almost impossible to function without a basic knowledge of current technology. This difficulty is going to continue increasing at an exponential rate.
While it is limitless what can be achieved on a computer, there is only so much that can be taught in a classroom. In this course, you will be introduced to programs that you may not have realized are currently valuable to you and you can now use in every-day life. You will also learn how to perform certain tasks more efficiently. For example, almost everyone knows how to “Google it.” But there are key words and symbols that you can use to help refine your search to obtain more accurate information as well as save you time by only seeing matches that are a lot closely related to what you want.
